Hi,
We're in Berlin flying back to Newark tomorrow on a paid business class ticket. The flight is supposed to be a 757 with lay-flat seats.
It is now a 767-200. No layflat, no power jacks. The main reason I booked business class was for the seat - I can't sleep on planes and we have to be up in about 4 hours, so I would have liked to be able to nap.
In addition, I wanted the in seat power, since I was hoping a job offer would come in while I was on vacation here (It did) and now I want to do some pre-work. My laptop battery will not last 8 hours, and now, since I won't sleep, I'll be able to get anything useful done after about 3 hours.
I'm guessing the reason was the weather last week in NY, but the fact remains that I bought the ticket for the seat. I thought the 767-200 was was an old United domestic plane, with a joke of first class in terms of space.
Do you all think it's worth it for me to ask for compensation? I don't expect a refund, but a "we're sorry" credit would be nice.
In addition, this afternoon when I checked the flight, we no longer had seats on the flight from Newark to SF, and all windows and seats together were gone. However, that was fixed by a call to the Frankfurt UA office who told me we were fine, and our boarding passes were accurate.
Any thoughts, and if you think I should ask, suggestions?
Thanks
