Last July, I purchased a D class circle pacific fare that included legs SYD-BKK-NRT on TG. I purposefully timed the BKK-NRT flight to coincide with Thai's inaugural 380 on the route.
Alas, TG pushed forward the date of the inaugural, so nothing special about my date of travel anymore.
Then, UA/MP decided to downgrade elite mileage earning for D class on most partners. (Where I was to get 150% eqms, I now get 100% for the TG legs. To UA's credit, I emailed them this morning my concern and received a personal reply within one hour).
Anyway, aside from the superior service on Thai, should I switch to UA on the BKK-NRT leg? Every EQM helps (and as I'm at 1.66 MM, 2MM is on the horizon).
