Asking for a friend what to do in this strange situation:
He's a silver and on a B Fare tomorrow from DCA-IAH on UA1733. He was elite upgraded at time of purchase. Checked in and has a boarding pass for 1A. Now the mobile app shows first full with someone else in 1A. He's not on the upgrade list? Maybe the plane is switching to a 735 or 319? His res also has a blank seat assignment for that flight, even though he is still booked in PN fare class.
What would you do in this situation? What should he do about downgrade comp?
Edit: Just looked again and now says 8 checked in, but booked full.
