Dear flyertalk experts:
I've got a skill-testing question for ya:
I have a one way ticket YVR-HKG booked. Now I'd like to book a separate r/t ticket HKG-SIN-HKG that would give me 2 days in SIN before coming back to HKG for another 2 days (onward travel will be arranged separately and isn't relevant here).
My question is, if I purchase this second r/t ticket to SIN, when I check in at YVR, would I be able to ask the agent to check my luggage to SIN?
I've seen a featured called "combine these reservations" on the United.com web site, and I wondered if this feature would allow me to combine the two separate reservations for the purpose of checking luggage thru.
If this is not possible -- could someone advise me on arrival/departure procedures in HKG (it'll be my first time there), in terms of claiming luggage, going through HKG customs and immigration, and check-in for my SIN flight?
Many thanks,
PublicRelAsian
