Tried to ticket the reservation today, and the reservation was nowhere to be found. No longer listed in my itineraries. Could not be called up by PNR. United reservations could not retrieve it. Customer care could not retrieve it. Web support could not retrieve it. Forwarded my email to Web Support, so they could confirm its existence.
Ultimately received excellent help, though it took an hour and twenty-four minutes on the phone. Original itinerary was no longer available in K, so they booked what was available and then manually changed the ticket to the correct itinerary. Very pleased with the outcome (especially because the fare would have been over $900 RT PIA-ATL without the certificate), though the time invested was a major annoyance. Very glad that I checked on this today. Had I waited until the 22nd to ticket this could have been a real disaster.
Am wondering if others have had this experience. If so, was it a normal cash ticket or a certificate? The woman who helped me could not see why it happened. I'd like to figure this out -- it makes me nervous.
