Does one also earn the mileage bonus (50% or 75% for Gold/Platinum members) if you buy an airticket in one of the mileage eligible ticketing classes (like W or T). Please let me know. UA offers options from the West Coast to NZ, but have to connect through Sydney. Just seeing what makes sense...
