Sorry if this has already been discussed elsewhere, but I tried searching for this topic and didn't find anything. Have been noticing this for a few days now, but thought I'd get community input. UA's phantom fares, disappearing fares, and overall IT issues get a lot of attention, but something curious happens when doing a search where the price that's displayed on united.com doesn't conform to ITA's lowest-quoted price. A few days ago, I decided to scroll to the bottom of the price display screen and tick the "Nonstop flights only" option, and voila, the lower price appeared! Tried this tactic with a few Thanksgiving flights today and got the same results. It's YMMV, certainly, but an additional search function for sure.
So the prices displayed before checking off the "Nonstop flights only" box ($598):
![]()
And after ($553):
![]()
Is this a known issue? Was I just not with-it?
