Does United/Mileage Plus have an online/live support system? I was just denied boarding my flight home from Bujumbura, Burundi. i'd originally booked an award ticket with USAir miles, there was a schedule change/flight number change on Ethiopian BJM-ADD flight. United took over my ticket to reschedule to avoid the winter storm in Washington DC a few weeks ago, but they left the old ET flight number in the receipt, not the new one. Get to the airport and I have no ticket on the flight. I offerred to buy a ticket on the spot but they wanted $150 more than I had on me (and wouldn't take CCs).
Burundi has to be the worst spot in the world to get stuck. My cell phone doesn't work here, power is iffy when it works and Skype is super echoey when I tried to call US.
I need to get in touch with them soon so the rest of the flights don't get cancelled and i can reschedule. I've already found alternate flights.
