International/status pros, I could use your help.
Thinking about a trip to Capetown, ex-IAD. That means either take SAA to JNB and hop from there, or UA to MUC, LH direct to CPT. Upgrades on "partners" like these seem to be almost nonexistent, and from what I've been able to tell after reading the board for months, still can't lock things in early (like months ahead of time early). That said.............
..........if I do this i want to at least make sure that all of these miles would count toward UA status. What's the best way/resource to look at to make sure that I purchase a fare that would yield miles for mileage plus that would count toward my flying status on UA?
