Status on Mileage Award Tickets Purchased for Others

Hi,

I will be purchasing tickets for my sister using my miles/account in the coming months. My question is, will my status in the frequent flyer program (gold) be applied to her ticket? Or does it only apply to me? I.e. Can she check in 3 bags for free like I can?
