I'm traveling between JFK and LAX today on a P.S. flight. My flight out of LAX had an upgrade list for both business and first for those with RPU's or miles, even though business was booked. But this flight has no-one on the list in business first, despite me already checking in (and using an RPU) because it's listed as booked (even though not everyone has checked in).
I called UA last night about it and the guy said nobody is on the list upgrade because business first is booked. I thought that they had an upgrade list no-matter what, as long as somebody requested an upgrade and had the miles/or RPU to cover it? People change their flights all the time, so seats sometime open up.
