Let me get this out of the way : EWR is not LGA (for all the DL/AA fanatics)
Now, since US is leaving Star, UA doesn't have anyone to partner with on DC-NY-BOS shuttle service. UA already operates EWR-BOS something like 10-12x daily, mostly on mainline. They nearly operate at shuttle levels without marketing as such.
Does it make any sense for UA to try to take a stab at the market and make EWR-DCA something like 10x daily on E170s ? I know their hub is right next door at IAD, but that serves connections not so much WAS O&D.
