Old credit card on profile - what happens?

I just booked a trip on UA and was a little befuddled when the website gave me a confirmation without entering a credit card. Upon further examination, I think UA charged an old credit card number that had been in my profile. What happens now? Will they email me and ask for a new card, or do I need to call?
