Hey guys,
I have a weird scenario here. Well, it's weird to me. I'm trying to book a flight out from SNA > ROA for the future in-laws, in July. They were very new to the miles game (didn't even have UA FF accounts, until 2 weeks ago), but had amassed 55K+ Chase UR points. They were looking at roundtrip flights (ROA > LAX > ROA), and pricing that weekend was in the $600+ range. I found saver award availability, though, and they got the CSP to transfer the miles to UA and book there. It was going to be ROA > LAX, then SNA > ROA.
I checked the availability on my account, and everything was there, so we transferred the miles. I booked the ROA > LAX leg for them on their account, and for my fiance (who will be there at the time) ROA > LAX out of my account. Everything went great. I went to book the SNA > ROA flight on their account, though, and it wasn't there. I was worried it was gone, and searched again. Still not there. Searched on my account, and it's there. This was yesterday. It still shows not available on theirs, but it's there when I search on mine. I called United and the person was clueless, and said even if it shows on mine, I could't book it. It let me go all the way to "confirm and purchase" on mine. I don't really have the miles to spare, and this makes no sense to me.
Neither of us have status, why should availability be ANY different?
Any way around this, or any way to contact someone on this continent?
