Award Ticket US to SEZ - Stopover in Europe?

Hi all,

I am looking into an award trip from the US to SEZ (Seychelles). Depending on the length of the trip, I may just flight straight there via ADD on Ethiopian, but if I can stretch the trip long enough, I am considering adding a stopover as well. I would ideally like to stopover in Greece. I called up UA the other day to start looking at some tentative availability (trip isn't until Sept 2013), but the agent hesitated saying, "I'm not sure if Athens would be a valid stopover for a trip to the Seychelles..." He didn't question it too much further since I was mainly just checking routing options and comparing what I had found on the ANA tool, not ready to book....but if/when I move forward to booking this, would a stopover in Europe be allowed on an award ticket to Africa? I'd be looking at something like the following:

IAD-FRA-ATH (stopover for 4 days)
ATH-FRA-ADD-SEZ (stay for 4 days)
SEZ-ADD-IAD

I looked into the MPM with KVS:
[KVS Availability Tool 7.0.7/Diamond - Reference: Maximum Permitted Mileage [MPM]: IAD-SEZ/UA]
Code:

        GI      M      5M    10M    15M    20M    25M
MPM      AT  10788  11327  11866  12406  12945  13485
MPM      PA  12796  13435  14075  14715  15355  15995

I'm not 100% sure I'm reading the table correctly, but I believe it indicates that the MPM between IAD and SEZ is 10,788, and each subsequent column is MPM + 5%, MPM + 10%, etc.

IAD-FRA-ATH-FRA-ADD-SEZ totals up to 11,145 miles, so I think that would work (since I've read that UA used to allow up to 15 or 25% extra, and this is less than 5% extra).

Anything I'm missing?
