MX-IRROPS Questions: Did I do the right thing and unique double-dip questions

US Chairman here on an all-UA itin today 5/11 (BWI-EWR-LAX-SAN-SFO-BWI same-day MR). I wanted to know if I requested the right alternatives and if i'll get credit for my first aborted segment. Wasn't sure if I should post here or the US forum since I'm crediting to US, but mods please move if necessary.

My first segment, UA 4896 BWI-EWR on a Q400 went MX after an aborted takeoff (smoking brakes and all). My mobile BP was scanned as normal during boarding. Flight was delayed enough that I blew the rest of my itinerary. I have family obligations tomorrow so I couldn't accept the UA metal alternative of spacing me out across 2 days, not enough time to get to DCA/IAD and still complete a same-day itin, and US had no space on the necessary flights across the WAS area (confirmed via EF).

With a whole Q400 of people queued up behind me at the gate, the GA said "what do you want me to do?" In the heat of the moment, and unsure if I should ask "send me to ANC in F same-day" or some other way to maximize my EQM earning in this IRROPS, I felt that my best option was to have them reticket the entire itinerary for next saturday 5/18, when I have the free time to do the MR again. The GA reticketed the entire itinerary in full Y (no EQM bonus on US :td: ) including a new BWI-EWR segment.

Now AFAIK it is the act of the BP scan that triggers the sending of miles over to US for crediting to my account ~48hrs after the scan. The fact that we returned to the gate for an MX should be irrelevant to earning. The questions I have are:

1) Will I receive the 500 EQMs for having my BP scanned on the aborted BWI-EWR segment despite the reticketing?

2) Was there an action I could have taken that would have resulted in greater EQM earnings in this situation? Should I have requested the new itinerary in F or at least Y+?

3) Is there something I can do now via calling UA to have them move the itinerary again should some other obligation arise, etc?, or can I request a change fee?

4) Was this a valid trip-in-vain situation?

Thanks.
