Expedia calls to rebook flight!

I had booked a flight through Expedia and today they called to change this flight because a slight timetable change would now leave me with only 1h45' (in my opinion enough) of layover in ORD to connect from international to domestic. They were now even able to book me on a connection through IAH that I preferred but which was not available when I originally booked.

Great service by Expedia and good proactive thinking of UA I might add. Since I'm travelling on a rather cheap P fare, I am positively surprised they allowed such flexibility.

Does anyone know why UA now thinks 1h45' is not enough to transfer through ORD when the original connectimg time was 1h50'? Has anyone had such rebookings lately?
