I had booked a roundtrip BUF-BOM on UA through an online agent (StudentUniverse) and I have completed my onward journey. My return is scheduled for Aug 20 and the routing is BOM-MUC-EWR-BUF (BOM-MUC on LH).
I will be reaching EWR at 1235 on UA 107 and there is no change till here as of now. According to the original itinerary I was booked on UA3870 to BUF that leaves EWR at 1430. I got an email today from the agent saying that UA has changed my booking and now I am on UA4895 to BUF that leaves EWR at 1536. I checked UA schedule and the original flight is still operating at said times.
Being an International Passport Holder, the extra 45 mins will indeed give me some breathing time and its a welcome change. But are changes like this without notice common with UA? I was wondering if one can claim compensation for such flight changes without notice.
I was also wondering that if I clear immigration pretty quickly will UA put me back on the original flight without extra fee?
