So I had a very nice made-in-Japan Samsonite that I shelled out many hundreds of dollars for. It did not have TSA locks, and I checked it in any number of times - but must have crossed someone as it came out completely destroyed. So bad, in fact, that it was fully unusable.
The United agent offered me some replacement bags - a strange-looking Delsey and a Samsonite that didn't roll too well (mine had 4 wheels). I said I would prefer a 4-wheeled bag and he suggested I file a report as they would replace it with a similar bag. Did I make a mistake and will UA come back to me telling me too bad, should have taken the airport bag - not their fault because it's TSA? Or will I get at least something?
