I am sorry if this question is too basic or has been posted else where, I read the threads about the changing rules for luggage which was last updated on the UA website on March/18th/2013, but I still can't find a clear answer.
I am a Premier Gold trying to book an award ticket for my wife (she has no status) to visit her family in the middle east, she wants to take 3 pieces of luggage each x70 lbs.
I wasn't sure if she will be able to do so, and did not want to take the rsik of packing the bags then be surprised at the airport with the huge bill, so:
My question is:
1) will she get my benefit of 3 free bags each 70 lbs as a Gold member?
2) I know that paying for a ticket won't get her my Gold status luggage benefit, but isn't the "designated" companion supposed to get the benefit on award tickets (even if the primary Gold member is not traveling)?
