Was on family trip in Hawaii and flight from OGG-LAX was delayed due to an elective maintenance part being flown in from HNL. There was another flight going in 1 hour and we inquired about changing to it.
The GA wasn't offering it up. Even though there were 8 open seats in E+ and we were in First, she gave the 'your bags already checked and we can't pull them'
Is this a valid reason? The departing flight wasn't even boarding and only 2 gates down from us. A call into central reservations wasn't help either--with them deferring to the GA since we already checked in.
Thoughts? BTW, we were flying under sister's 1k status on award tickets that got bumped into first.
