This concerns the annual paper cert sent to many Chase UA Visa holders that gives a free companion fare on one T class ticket. The T&C state (and have always stated) that the free companion ticket is not upgradeable. However Apollo apparently never found a way to implement this restriction and I always found that both pax could be upgraded using any and all of the upgrade paths available for the relevant paid fare. I haven't tried to use one of these certs since the SHARES transition. Is the "no upgrade on the free ticket" enforceable for CPUs? RPUs? Mileage based instruments??
