Not all that surprising given the massive capacity TK has brought to the NYC market and other major cities where UA would pull feed from. Plus there is the political climate in Turkey right now.
I enjoyed the route the couple times I got to fly it. Then again, $550 r/t for one ($500 paid with a TCV) and $880 r/t in W where the GPU upgrades cleared probably wasn't making much money for United.
