A class of people more entitled than UA Elites?

... and more obnoxious, in my opinion.

Was about to board UA1258 today at BOS (enroute to EWR) and they asked for a volunteer to give up their seat - this literally as I was handing them them my BP for boarding. I volunteered and got $400 voucher, an F seat a few hours later and $20 for food.

While waiting to be processed, I learned that the reason for the last minute volunteer request was apparently they needed to get two pilots down to EWR. The pilots were standing right next to me.

GA hands them two BPs, my exit row and one in E-. Captain looks at his (not the exit row) and obnoxiously says "is this E+" and of course it wasn't. He says "we get E+, you need to get us an E+ seat". I'm thinking, really? You can't sit in E- with your customers for the 40 minute hop down to EWR?

GA was none to pleased, but kept quiet. But Captain can see it in his eyes and hands over his phone "Want to call them?" he says. GA - "No, I know, we'll get you a seat". Captain asks how and GA says they will go on board after boarding is complete and find someone to switch around.

It was uncomfortable to watch this unfold - and I just can't believe that they were going to go on that plane and take someone out of their E+ seat, move them back so Mr. "I-only-ride-up-front" could sit in E+. Nice working realtionship these folks have - its no wonder their customer service is so poor.

I can only hope they found him an E+ middle seat (he had a window in E-).
