Taking the United Airline Bus

It is $400 cheaper for me to drive from Houston to Beaumont (about an hour away), take the United bus to IAH and fly from IAH to my final destination than it is for me to drive directly to IAH and take the same flight.

Can anyone explain the logic? :confused:
