I was using the return portion of an award ticket IAH LAX IAH.
Made the standby at the airport in LAX with another pax/ I heard him talk to other pilots, he was a pilot in street clothes.
2 of us out of 20 some standbys.
So when I got back to LA, out of curiosity, I looked on the mobile app, to find that my name was taken off the cleared standby list/only the pilot's name was still on.
I looked at the seat map, and it showed my occupied seat vacant.
And then when I got home and tried to look at the PNR with the record locator number, it wouldn't open, because there was no flight segment in it.
What are the GAs trying to do ? The head count and computer count did not match, and they just off me to close out the flight ?
Question is, I know it's a big if...in an accident, something happened to me, and the record shows that I am not on the flight.
Are these tricks still done at the gate, at this computer age ?
