I was at LAX yesterday and had some time to look around - the new shops and restaurants in Terminal 7 are quite nice. I wandered around upstairs in the old rotunda and started wondering if the IFL up there is going to go the way of the dodo.
With NRT going 2-class and SYD going 2-class, and p.s. going 2-class, I only see LHR with 3-class F still on the schedule going forward. Would UA close this lounge or keep it as a perk for p.s., GS flyers and the VIPs?
I'd hate to see it go - although it is a bit dated, the views are great up there and the staff has been super-nice on the few occasions I've visited. Plus you can see some vintage early '60s mosaic tile around the water fountains (turquoise-colored) and an old service window of some sort (charcoal gray-colored). Not as impressive as the "rainbow" mosaic downstairs, but still cool in a small way.
