I am about to become a Silver Elite for the first time (not sure that this is a big deal anymore, but that's a different topic).. The flight where I hit 25k for the year is ORD to LHR. Currently on this flight, Economy is fully booked (no unassigned seats left in booking tool), but the E+ section is almost empty. What do you think the chances are for me and DH (non-elite, booked on same reservation) to get moved to E+? We had been thinking about paying to upgrade to E+ as a rare treat for us, but wondering why pay if we could get it for free.
