I'm on UA 199 tonight (PVG-LAX on 787) and the same flight was cancelled yesterday.
I've been tracking my UA flight today to see the seatmap, possible upgrades,etc.. And also to try and figure out how last nights cancelled flight customers were accomodated. Here's what I see:
My flight today - UA 199 departing @ 8 PM with pretty much the same seat map as I've seen for days. Plane # 3902
Another flight today I haven't seen before - UA 1748 departing @ 7:30 PM. The seatmap looks totally grayed out, with a larger number of seats that look blocked. And a large number of E- seats. Plane #3901 (787).
Both flights are scheduled to arrive LAX within 30 minutes of each other.
My guess is that UA 1748 is a special 787 to accommodate last nights stranded passengers.
Can anyone tell me if I'm reading this right? And are there other tools that will help me decipher such situations in the future?
Thanks.
