I'm a 1K, and I've got a party of 5 travelling on connecting domestic flights. On the return, the first flight has only 4 seats available in a lower fare bucket. The difference in fare is several hundred dollars. The additional traveller can take an earlier connection and "meet up" with the rest of the party for the connecting flight. Obviously, this is relatively inconvenient. Do agents have any discretion to ask for an extra seat to be added to a fare bucket?
Otherwise, I'm inclined to book the 1 pax on the slightly less convenient flight and hope for a schedule change, or just have them show up a little earlier for the flight home.
