Wondering if anyone has any experience or definitive knowledge to share on this matter for changes to award tickets 21+ days prior to departure booked through Mileage Plus.....
I have an award ticket booked through Mileage Plus that arrives in LaGuardia (LGA) however I'd prefer to fly to JFK. I've been checking somewhat frequently to see if the flight into JFK opens up.
I've already changed the flight to a better LGA arrival time and the last time I made the change I asked the agent if it would be possible to change to the JFK flight if it opened up w/o the $75 change fee. That agent told me yes b/c JFK, EWR, and LGA are considered "co-terminals" (ie: they are one city for these purposes).
Today the JFK flight opened up and when I called to change the agent said I would have to pay the $75 change fee. Eventually they agreed to waive the fee as a "one-time exception due to misinformation", however I'm wondering if anyone knows what the rule really is?
Thanks
