have an award ticket in "mixed cabin". iad-muc-lys(lyon). have award F for iad-muc. continuing flight muc-lys is in Y. return is Y lys-fra and F for fra-iad.
i presume i can use the F lounge in iad. can i even get into the lounge in muc as i will be on a Y ticket? if lyon does not have a lounge, however, if i fly with a front end Y can i get into a lounge with a Y ticket and a forward F ticket at say BLQ. united has offered a number of these "mixed cabin" tickets.
while on the subject of mixed cabins, is there a way to ug the Y part of the trip if seats open up. we recently flew iad-zhr-bcn and iad-vie-vce, and the second flight on both were in small planes with typical no first class section.
