I was wondering under which circumstances this can occur. I received a standard elite upgrade notification email to bussinessfirst 3 days (specifically t-71h 55m) before departure. I was puzzled as never seen this before. I called CO (for something else) and asked agent and she couldnt work out either how or why it happened. Was a full flight but at the time they were still selling Y tickets. I presume this was an operational upgrade of sorts but if so why happen 3 days before and why via elite upgrade notification channel?
