Hello Everyone,
Have a quick question. We are going on a circle trip domestically in Standard Y award since there are no Saver Award available.
Here's our routing as ticketed for 50,000 miles total (Standard Y award):
Day 1:
SEA-ORD-BOS**
SEA/ORD in Y, waitlisted for IN
**ORD-BOS in IN (Saver First)
Day 2:
BOS-ORD-SFO (Both in Y)
Day 3:
SFO-SEA (in Y)
As booked on the United.com website, this prices out at 50K for all segments in Y. I saw the segment for Saver First was available ORD-BOS so i called in and, after the agent contacted the help desk/supervisor, she advised me that they can go ahead and confirm the ORD-BOS segment in First and waitlisted SEA-ORD for IN.
Just for fun, I priced out the same segments for sometime next year and came out with the following:
Saver First for all segments: 60,000 miles
Saver Coach for all segments: 35,000 miles
Standard Coach for all segments: 50,000 miles
Standard First for all segments: 100,000 miles
My question is this, I've always thought that the Standard Coach award equated to Saver First Award levels. Looking above...it doesn't seem so.
Am I missing something here?
My question is if I should even ask to be waitlisted for Saver First (IN) for all segments or just leave it as is. (We do have the United Card so we can get CPU if available closer to the date)
It's odd though that they confirmed us on one segment in IN at the same mileage level.
Thanks!
M.
