After reading 14 separate threads relating to lounge access policy, Im still confused due to the various contradictory replies between FlyerTalk posters and the Star Alliance and UA websites.
I wrote to UA regarding what lounge access I will have for the following itinerary. And I will share their response. However, I have not had a reply yet.
In the meantime, I would appreciate some guidance (preferably official UA rules) on what lounges I should be allowed to access.
I will be travelling on an AC Aeroplan reward ticket flying outbound LHR-ORD-YVR then returning a week later YVR-SFO-LHR.
I do not have any elite status with any Star Alliance member.
Outbound Flight #1: LHR-ORD (arriving ORD at 10:20 am)
Operated by: UA
Class: United Global First
LHR lounge = Star Alliance First Class Lounge
Question 1: On arrival, will I be allowed access to the ORD United Arrivals Lounge (even though it is a day flight)?
Outbound Flight #2: ORD-YVR
Operated by: UA
Class: United Business
Question 2: Is Canada still considered international for United Club purposes?
Question 3: Will I be allowed access to an ORD United Club?
Question 4: Will I be allowed access to the ORD United Global First Lounge (since I will be holding an inbound same-day international first class boarding pass from Flight #1)?
Return Flight #1: YVR-SFO
Operated by: UA
Class: United Business
Question 5: Will I be allowed access to the trans-border AC Maple Leaf Lounge?
Return Flight #2: SFO-LHR (departing SFO at 1:00 pm arriving LHR at 7:10 am)
Operated by: UA
Class: United Global First
SFO lounge = United Global First Lounge
Question 6: Is there a better alternative (Star Alliance) lounge that I could access in SFO?
LHR lounge = Star Alliance Arrivals Lounge
Thanks in advance!
