What's going on with p.s. plane retrofitting?

I apologize for starting a new thread if this is answered somewhere, but "ps" isn't the easiest term to search for on here .

Last year I thought that I remembered reading that UA was going to begin retrofits in the second half of 2012; which made sense when I booked an upcoming JFK-LAX roundtrip for Christmas.

On the outbound, it was an old 3-cabin configuration and on the way back it was a 752 lieflat. I was confirmed in business on the way out and first on the way back. The other day, the return flight changed to the old three cabin 752 and I was placed in business (I was booked in R on both flights, so that made sense).

United hub now mentions something about doing the retrofits in 2013, although it isn't clear if they intend to start them or complete them in 2013. If it's the latter, I assume some aircraft changes are going to start tricking in over the next few months.

That said, I assume they aren't going to continue to have 26 C seats on this aircraft...which makes me wonder how much at risk I am for losing my upgrades if they pull a switcheroo on me at the last minute.

I imagine a lot of people will be unhappy if they go to the PMCO 752 configuration for these planes after they've booked their tickets. PMUA ps 752 has 38 premium seats between F+C...PMCO 752 has 16.

If they don't have enough sense to harmonize the seatmaps online to dovetail with the scheduled changes to aircraft they could potentially be displacing 22 premium passengers for every flight.

I can't imagine that would go over well...esepcially for me. I used RPUs for these flights that expire 12/31. If they switch me to new config 752 and I get busted down to coach I am going to be extremely pissed
