Sponsor GPU from GS member (chance of WL clearance)

Hi,

I got someone to sponsor me a GPU upgrade for my upcoming MEX-ORD-FRA flight. The ORD-FRA leg confirmed immediately, while MEX-ORD is still on waitlist. Expertflyer shows C5 D5 Z0, with 5 out of 12 seats open at this point in the seatmap.

What are the chances that this will clear? Also, does his GS status help my priority? Or does my priority (Premier Gold) count?
