Award tix question: 2 people in PNR, need to change the schedule only one

Hi,

I am about to book award tickets for two people (me, and my wife) and my wife's return date probably needs to be changed later but not quite sure at this time.

Should I book her award separately? or just book with me and call CSR to change her schedule only when needed? Is this possible?
