United.com *A Partner inventory is it realtime?

I had an experience where ANA/KVS were all showing available seats on South African, but United.com and ExpertFlyer were not. I called USDM and booked the seats as originally planned, but am curious to know the extent of this "mis-sync" between Starnet, United.com, and EF. Anyone experience this or able to confirm its a known function of the legacy CO system?

I didn't try to confirm the inventory issue with a call into UA.

It would seem this is something to keep in mind when searching routes with constant inventory changes, your choice tool may not give you the most accurate information and leave that seat for others!
