I was taking a short flight (~1 hr) and I was supposed to reach my destination around 6p yesterday by United Express.
Apparently, the incoming aircraft was delayed due to some mechanical issue. What started off as an 1 hour delay became 2, 3, 4.. and eventually they called it a day and cancelled at 9:15p.
The gave me an alternative flight with one hop connection (my original flight was a direct flight) that would have gotten me to my destination about 25 hours late (assuming it was on schedule).
After 9p, I booked a ticket with Delta and reached around 11a (8hours before United could have gotten me in the best case).
I haven't yet asked for any compensation (I paid for the hotel myself). Should I? I'm quite upset, and I don't know what could compensate. 4 SWU? :rolleyes:
