I have an award ticket that costs 60k miles. The correct number of miles is shown on the original receipt. Then I've made a change to one of the flight but there was no additional charge on the miles, just ~$20 more for tax. That information was shown on the screen when I made and confirmed the change. I got a new receipt with the miles for the ticket shown 150k. However, no additional miles were taken from my account. What should I do ?
Another question: I have another booking that wasn't ticketed after more than 48 hours. That award involves OZ flights. I was worried that OZ would cancel the flights so I called UA to ask about the booking. The first agent kept me on hold for 30 minutes to work on my booking, asking me my PIN and taking my credit card to charge the tax. She promised me that I would get the email and ticket number 10 minutes later. However, nothing happened.
24 hours later, I called UA again and got another agent. This agent also kept me on hold more than 30 minutes in order to work with the help desk. She also took my credit card but not PIN. Then she was successful to get the booking ticketed right afterwards. However, after hanging up, I noticed that I was charged $25 booking fee. Is that how it should be ? I did make the booking online. I had to call in just because the booking wasn't ticketed for too long and I doubt that it would be ticketed if I didn't call. The agent didn't tell me about the booking fee. Now I don't know whether I should complain or not. I am really relieved to see that the agent could actually get me the ticket. However I feel that I had to pay for something that was not my fault.
