I was making fight reservation for an upcoming trip to China. This itinerary includes United segments all the way from my departure airport to NRT, and then connecting to a ANA flight to my final destination. But when I put in my credit card information and click purchase, the website shows an error. I though that might be my credit card problem and therefore I tried another card, same error. I called web support and they figured that its the partner flight that has no availability on this particular fare class. Why would UA still attempt to book me into this fare class if it's not available on the ANA side? I know I can call reservation to let them price out the itinerary, but is there anyway I can do it online? Because over the phone, I can explore much less routing options and its sometimes a pain to reserve a ticket over the phone. Is there anyway I can find the "real" ANA availability and try to make UA.com book me into that fare class?
