Baggage pickup (in EWR) after (TLV) flight (to ORD)?

I'm sure this has been discussed and mod, feel free to merge if appropriate.

TLV-EWR-ORD

Do I have to exit security at EWR and pick up my luggage and then re-check it to ORD or will they check it straight through from TLV through ORD; or is it a YMMV?
