I was on the BAH-KWI-IAD flight last night.
I was lamenting with the FA's about the shrinkage of frequencies for the BAH-KWI-IAD route from daily to 4 times per week. A couple of FA's on the first flight, BAH-KWI said that the reduction was the result of UA wanting to add a flight from DMM-RUH-IAD or EWR. We had a crew change in KWI and another FA on that flight said the same thing.
Has anyone heard anything about UA serving Saudi Arabia ?
I think that this could prove to be a potentially profitable route, especially if it originates in DMM. I think that UA is missing the mark on marketing as they are a no show at travel shows in the Eastern Province and do not emphasize their remarkable timing (i.e. departing BAH at 9:30pm and arrivals in the USA at 6:30am). American Expatriates in the Eastern Province are growing almost as fast as the draw down of military in KWI.
The insight of the wise and all-knowing FTers is appreciated.
