GPU's once 1K challenge completed?

I'm a longtime AA exec plat member who switched to UA under the 1K challenge earlier this year. I completed the challenge a couple weeks ago (35k pqm in 3 months) and called up mileage plus desk on why my GPU's are yet to post. They told me I would not be receiving any GPU's until I reached 100k miles as I "have not actually earned 1K status yet" according to the agent AND her supervisor. This is 100% different than what the agent told me when I signed up, which was I'd have full-fledged 1K status with 6 GPU's and 2 RPU's on completion of the challenge. Anyone have experience on completing a 1K challenge and what happened to the GPU / RPU's? I don't have a realistic chance of making 100k PQM this year. Had already flown 45k+ with AA before starting this challenge.
