I'm booked on an afternoon flight from SFO-IAH which has been delayed. Because of the delay, I'll miss my connecting flight to GPT. According to the agent, I can't fly out today because of this and there are no other connecting flights to GPT.
Because this was a sale fare the agent claims there are no other near term dates where I can reschedule this flight. They won't rebook me into a higher fare flight either. The agents advice is to cancel the ticket and get a full refund.
I'm now losing the cost of a prepaid hotel stay. And now will be losing a critical piece of my mileage accrual for this years status.
Any advise what I should do with this ticket? Do I really have any other option besides refunding or paying the much higher fare difference to rebook at a non-sale rate?
